A Few Books We Read This School Year 2016-2017
I really loved this book. Karmin will be reading it for her Challenge A class this fall. It's a great historical fiction and perfect for 12-14 yr olds or older. :)
A favorite of the younger boys.
My 6 and 4 year old boys love this series. Simple picture books with fun stories in rhyme.
It took me awhile to get into this book. I've never watched the movies (don't think I will). I found the book to take some perseverance to read and I'm glad I did.
This book made me sad. I read it to myself and was fully captivated by it but I always like happy endings and this one was just sad.
Karmin really enjoyed this book. It has some dark side to the magic in it, that was bothersome to me but didn't bother her.
Loved it! Great read aloud for my kids and I.
Not a favorite of mine. However I can see how 10-15 yr olds could enjoy it. See previous post for a book review.
A great "how to" book on leading literary discussions with kids. It made so much sense to me and I loved the simplicity of it.
I read this to myself. It was captivating!
The kids groaned with I told them I was going to read this to them, since they had already watched the movie. However they were captivated after the first few chapters. Win!
Another fantastic picture book by Bill Peet.
I was captivated by this book! I recommend it for 10 years or older. Its a long book. Audio book would be really good for young readers.
We listened to this on audio cd and everyone loved it.
My kids didn't actually read this, but I did and enjoyed it.
By Kevin Ingram - The boys love trucks.
This was a fun read aloud for myself and the kids. Perfect for 3-6th graders.
The kids and I loved this one too.
